Tutto Bono Surabaya (Review)

Hey guys!
Happy friday! And if you don't know where to spend your friday night, today is your lucky day, because I will share to you guys, one place that just opened TODAY! And this place would be just a PERFECT PLACE to spend your weekend night at. So, get yourself ready and read through until the rest of the blog post, okay? xo

Tutto Bono
Lounge & Bar
Tutto Bono is the newest Italian Restaurant in Lenmarc Mall, west Surabaya that I would personally recommend for you to visit. If you have been seeing the sign of this in front of Lenmarc and you're keep wondering when will they open for public, dear today is the day! And I, myself will guide you through the most things, don't worry :)

So Tutto Bono is a semi fine dining restaurant and lounge that opens from 5 pm to 11 pm. They served Italian food, the head chef is pure Italian, and they also served wine and alcohol. They separate the dining area and the lounge area, they also have an outdoor spot for smoking, in total, Tutto Bono can serve up to 204 people inside, but for this soft opening period, they limit their daily customer up to only 60 customers until they are ready to serve the whole area.

The interior design in Tutto Bono is very much like any Italian Restaurant, but much more modern. The atmosphere is very nice, I'm sure you won't mind staying there the whole night. And their kitchen is visible from the dining area, so you can see how they work, or just to check how clean their station is. Plus, if you're an Oenophile, there's an glass enclosed wine room too right next to the lounge.

At that night, we were welcomed very warmly by the owner, she served us with a Red Wine as a starter, and she also already made a special range of their menu for all of us to try. BUT, I want to say that I in this post, I will only tell you about the dishes that I truly love, I will leave the rest of them in my gallery. And I want to sincerely apologize if there are some of the name that I didn't remember.

So, what did we try that night?

Tuscan Chicken Liver Pate
I actually didn't know what's the name of this and this menu is probably not for sale, because it's the starter snack, probably they would give it to you for free. So how did I get the name? I googled the brief descriptions of the menu, and this name came up, haha.. Basically it's a bread with Chicken Liver Sauce. If you're not a fan of Chicken Liver like me, don't worry, it won't taste as nasty as what you think.

There's actually a proper way to eat this Tuscan Chicken Liver Pate. First, you pour an olive oil and balsamic vinegar to a plate, then scoop the Chicken Liver Pate on to your plate. After that, take the bread of your liking (there are some types of bread on the plate), dip it into the olive oil-balsamic vinegar mixture, then dab it to the Chicken Liver Pate, and enjoy. By reading this, congratulations! You can act like a smartass because you know how to eat Italian Starter in a proper way, YOU ARE VERY WELCOME! <3

Antipasto Toscano
This is a platter that has a lot of things on top of it, from bruschetta, chicken liver pate, olive, and meats. I didn’t really get to try this dish because there were a lot of us at that time, and when I wanted to try it, the bruschetta was all finished and the rest of it were already on Taglere, which I also tried before. This will be a great choice if you want a starter with more variable, perhaps if you’re with a group of friends.

Taglere di Affettati

This is another favorite of mine, because obviously I’m a carnivore, I love meats. And on this plate, there were two types of meat, one tasted saltier than the other. (again, apologize of my lack of knowledge about these foods) Among the meat there were a thin cheese that was cut into triangle shape, and there were also a shot glass of honey to be poured on top of the meat. The taste? LOVELY!

Insalata di Rucola

This is one of the best dish that night! I didn’t recall anyone hated it, on the other hand, everyone praised this salad. I don’t know how to put it into words, it was just very simple, yet very fresh.  Every element in this salad just fit very nicely to our palate. Enough said, this is the perfect appetizer to start your Italian Dinner.

Spaghetti Shrimp

This one is also everyone’s favorite. It was creamy but doesn’t make you feel sick. Me personally is not really a creamy pasta person, but I tried a little bit of the dish and I kinda liked it. :)

Ravioli di Ricotta e Spinaci con Burro e Salvia

What a mouthful title, lol. But this dish is very GOOD! This is actually not on the list from the chef. But Merli ordered it for us. Some of us jokingly mocked her and said that she's very greedy, but I actually thankful for her ordering this, because it was just SO GOOD! I've tried Ravioli before, but I never liked them, but I instantly fell in love with this one just in a single bite. Recommended!

Bistecca Fiorentina
You just got to try this! Perfect to be paired with a glass of  wine. There was a little debate that night, some of us thought that the meat was too plain, they said it needed to be salted. But me personally loved it the way it was, you need nothing to seasoned this. I could eat this red meat all by myself, haha.. If you do need to season it, olive oil and balsamic vinegar are enough, anything else would just ruin the taste of this meat.

After that, we also had some Risotto, Pizza and also some Sesserts, but to me, the taste was just okay, and the pictures was in a super bad quality even Lightroom can't saved them, so let them just rest in peace in my Gallery, haha.. There were also some drinks and cocktails served that night, but I didn't try any of them, since I already drank the wine, I didn't want to mix any alcohol, I was quite tipsy already, and I was driving, and mixing alcohol was never good for me, so... yeah.. LOL.

Overall, I would rate Tutto Bono with 9/10
Service was really good, the waiter was really understand about the menu, even it was all in Italian. He seemed to be really fluent (or just confidence) in both pronouncing (I didn't know how to pronounce it), and explaining all the menu that was served that night. Place is very cozy, atmosphere was great. They didn't tell us just yet about the price, but looking at the place and the quality of the foods, I'm sure it's in the higher range of price, but let me assure you that it would be worth your money (I didn't even got paid to say these).

Okay, I'm done sitting almost ten hours in Starbucks with only one drink just to write this for you. This is just how much I am dedicated to this blog and to you. Again, I'm not paid for this post (I wish I am), haha.. #sadlife #curcol Thank you for reading and I will never be tired telling you if you like this post or if you think this post helps you, pleaseeee give me a little support by clicking G+1 button below this post and at the top right of this blog.

  1. I bet this restaurant will be a hit only for very short time and then slowly it will die lonely as always. Surabayans are not ready to throw their cash for good quality foods and good ambiance. Surabaya is just a town that wants to be seen as cosmopolitan. There so many unfitnesses to be cosmopolitan.

  2. I would really appreciate it if you could tell us the estimate range for the price in every single review you've made :)
